I was looking for a interesting innocent robots, and I was watching animation from Cartoon Network called Robot Boy.
Robot Boy is about a boy whose been given a super hero robot boy from a secret scientist who was trying to hide from a evil scientist Villain who wanted to take or destroy Robot Boy for world conquering and destruction.
However the Robot Boy character brings familiar ideas to my group ideas because we were exploring what type of robot that can transform into a boy by emotional feeling powers.
The character looks simple to make, and it has small level lighting, and simple texture colours.
The robots face expressions explains about his emotions as super hero to save innocent lives from evil and being danger. However the facial expression is brings more ideas for my teams robot design plans. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=CVgI4UYsNQc (Video)
Also, the opening sequence reveals some inspiration for my animation such as the professor says "So he can learn to be a true boy" which supports our story idea.
Transformers The Movie 1986
This is an old animation film called the Transformers, for me it is the best Transformers animation than other styles. This is a fight scene between Optimus Prime and Megatron, they are both in different sides in the great war. I like the style of the 80s animation robots but they are more based on futuristic scenery, and the character designs are interesting for me because the creators always have different ideas, models, stories. However, what I like about the robot characters is the use of colours with different shades, and textures combine together, and while the background is more less detailed texture to focus on characters.
iRobot
Film iRobot is more simple futuristic film with basic colour robots, and I was discussing with my group and suggest it we should use this film style robot for our robot design. Also interesting the robot designs are familiar with the video game Portal 2 robots because they both similar texture and colour. The model of the robot brings more ideas to our robot design.
I been researching films and video games about robots influence to help with my groups robot and supporting the story. I been planning with Edgar, and Nadia that we both agreed to have a futuristic robot but with anthropomorphic style to make our robot boy. A combination of robots from Portal 2 and iRobot would go real together because my group pefer to have a black and white style texture.
These drawings are belong to Edgar whose in responsible for doing the sketches of his robot for our group animation work. I like the drawings he has done, and I feel the project would be a successful animation.
